Adam Idah silences his Irish critics, now for the Celtic ones | OneFootball

Silence is golden. Green, white and golden for a Celtic striker in Dublin last night. Adam Idah proved his quality as he starred on international duty with the Republic of Ireland. Hopefully he can now show the same qualities in the closing stages of the season at Celtic to silence his critics here…

Many think it’s an underwhelming season so far from Adam Idah

Frankly Adam Idah isn’t exactly having the best of campaigns in a Hoops jersey. Signed for £9 million from Norwich City last summer following a successful loan spell in the second half of last season, the big Irishman has struggled for regular game time thus failing to provide any form of consistency to make a significant impact on Brendan Rodgers and the supporters.

Idah has scored 13 goals in 41 appearances this season for Celtic

His goal tally this campaign of 13 in 41 suggests just that, and is rather underwhelming for a guy who cost a cool £9.5 million. Adam however does have qualities that benefit the side. He’s a great threat in the air and he’s very mobile across the forward line, and more importantly he has a knack of scoring vital goals when needed. He unfortunately doesn’t do it often enough to warrant being worthy of regular first team start and has been behind Kyogo then Daizen Maeda as the first pick striker in Celtic’s front three this season.

Idah scored a memorable double at Villa Park in the Champions League

Against Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Champions League he bagged a brilliant double and last night he showed that he possesses that killer instinct in front of goal as he grabbed the late winner for The Republic of Ireland in their Nations League play-off victory over Bulgaria.

Domestic goals are now the priority for Irish striker

Hurling fan Adam Idah has shown he can do it at international level, and of course in the highest level of European club competition with Celtic. The aim for him is to do in a more consistent basis, something he hopefully reciprocates in the closing stages of the season in the remaining Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup matches as Brendan Rodgers’ side eye yet another Treble for the club.

Idah was a Celtic hero in the run-in last season, same again please!

Adam Idah was the Celtic hero in the run-in last season and that form convinced Celtic to pay the high asking price that Norwich demanded.  It’s now the perfect time for Adam to put in a repeat performance in these upcoming matches to cement his place in the Celtic side and make supporters forget all about the size of that transfer fee.
