Adam Idah marked his first start for Celtic in the best possible way, scoring two goals to give his new side a 2-1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road and three vital Premiership points.

Having netted a spot-kick early in the game, the Irish internationalist was the coolest man in the stadium in added time at the end of the game when the Hoops were awarded another penalty, slotting that home as well to give Brendan Rodgers’ side a dramatic victory.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the game, the 22-year-old said: “It was an amazing feeling to score in the 90th minute, and to get three points topped it all off.

'To be honest, there was nothing going through my mind but to score.'

"I missed a few chances tonight which I was frustrated with, but I’ve taken penalties throughout my whole career and I think I’ve only missed one, so I was quite confident taking the penalty and thankfully it went in.

“I’ve said before that I’ve always wanted to play for this club and to score, especially last minutes in front of the fans, was such an amazing feeling so I was delighted. But it’s time to focus on the next game.”

The striker has joined Celtic on loan from Norwich City until the end of this season, and he made his debut against Aberdeen at the weekend, coming off the bench and setting up fellow new Bhoy, Nicolas Kuhn, to score his first goal for the Hoops.

And having got off the mark for Celtic, Idah is now aiming to add to his tally, starting this weekend when the Hoops take on St Mirren in the Scottish Cup.

“I said before that I want to get minutes her and develop as a player, and whether that’s coming off the bench or starting, I’ll take it,” he said.

'I’m still young and to be fair to the gaffer, he’s given me that opportunity and I’m happy I’ve repaid him.'

“To see the fans and the way they reacted to the goal was unbelievable, but I know myself how big this club is to everyone. It’s amazing, so I just want to keep on scoring goals and get three points on the table each week.

“Every single person has welcomed me, whether that’s the players, the staff, everyone at the training ground, and the fans have been unbelievable with me, especially on social media, and I’ve seen it all around the city. I’m enjoying life here and hopefully I can keep scoring goals.”
