Actonians cause cup shock in Regional Leagues

Actonians Reserves pulled off a surprise Cup victory, while Bolton Wanderers and Plympton made it 12 and 10 straight Regional League wins respectively.

EASTERN – Newmarket Town cut gap on leaders

Premier – Haringey Borough went third on goal-difference after netting nine times at Needham Market, Nellz Humes and Shawna Harvey each with a treble. Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers’ Kyla Langan hit a hat-trick as they beat Cambridge City 4-1 and jumped four places to fifth.

1 North – Newmarket Town’s Millie Docking and Abbi Griffin scored in the 2-1 defeat of Real Bedford Reserves that put their side second in the table, five points short of Harpenden Town and with one game still in hand.

League Cup 3rd Round – St Albans City’s tie was switched to Stevenage, who ran out 4-2 winners to make the quarter-finals, striking three times in the space of nine first-half minutes.

EAST MIDLANDS – Newport Pagnell progress in Plate

League Plate 2nd Round – Newport Pagnell Town won 3-0 away to Northampton Town Development, to book their place in the last eight of the competition.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Actonians cause cup upset

1 North – Leatherhead went third with a 6-3 victory over Ashmount Leigh, in which Sophia Richardson-Hughes and Leila Ayimba-Golding each bagged a brace for the hosts.

League Cup 3rd Round – Actonians Reserves beat higher-division Barking 2-1 to reach the quarter-finals, Dartford came out on top 6-4 in a goalfest at Aylesford. Dorking Wanderers went through 3-0 at Steyning Town, Fulham put four past Denham United and Millwall Lionesses overcame Herne Bay 10-1.

NORTH EAST – Leading pair play out goalless draw

Premier – The one game to go ahead was the top of the table clash which ended goalless, Chester le Street Town therefore staying four points clear of Ponteland United with three games in hand.

NORTH WEST – Bolton’s perfect dozen

1 North – A solitary fixture survived the weather, as Bolton Wanderers made it a dozen straight wins with a 4-1 result at Workington Town. Neisha Gordon netted twice, as Bolton moved six points clear of nearest rivals Penrith.

SOUTHERN – Ascot extend lead

Premier – Ascot United opened up a six-point lead over Oxford City at the top with a 6-0 result against Reading. The basement side trailed just 1-0 at the break but Kate Fox completed her hat-trick as the hosts hit five in the second half.

1 South – Bursledon beat Bournemouth Sports Reserves 5-2 with Isobel Pouncy on target twice, moving within a point of their fifth-placed visitors from three games fewer.

REGEN ARABLE SOUTH WEST – Tenth straight win for Plympton

Premier – Marine Academy Plymouth lead the table by four points from Forest Green Rovers – who now have a game in hand – after edging Frampton Rangers 1-0. Emma King scored both goals for Poole Town in a 2-2 tie with AEK Boco.

1 North – Royal Wootton Bassett Town rose two places to fourth on goal-difference, with a 2-0 defeat of Paulton Rovers in which Hannah Gulliver scored both goals.

1 South – Plympton have won all their ten games to date, the latest a 4-3 thriller at Yeovil Town where Samantha Metters bagged a crucial brace. Weston super Mare went fifth following a 3-1 defeat of Honiton Town, with all their goals coming off the bench, two for Ellie Burrows and the other by Yasmin Moorehead.

WEST MIDLANDS – All matches postponed
