âIâve not come to Sevilla to be anyoneâs substitute,â said Rafa Mir in Sundayâs edition of Marca.
âRafa Mir is Rafa Mir, with strengths and weaknesses. People are free to say what they like. Some will like me, others not so much.
âBut what I always say is that the numbers tell the story.â
Big talk from a man who is clearly not short of confidence, and Mir quickly showed when Sevilla took on Real Madrid on Sunday night that actions speak louder than words.
It was his header which opened the scoring after 12 minutes at the Bernabéu, taking his tally to five goals since joining Sevilla in the summer.
Heâs not wrong you know. The stats donât lie.
