Bayern Munich are considering a move for Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi, according to a report in the German media today.

Munich-based tabloid TZ said the Bundesliga champions had identified Hakimi as a great reinforcement for their next head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

The sticking point for any deal would apparently be trying to convince Inter, and this tallies with a report in Italy this morning which said the Nerazzurri had no intention of selling Hakimi.

In any case, Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano was asked about Bayern’s reported interest today and told TZ: “It wouldn’t surprise me (if they wanted him).

“Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and if they’re looking to sign someone it has to be the best player in his position.

“And Hakimi is the best player in his position.”

Hakimi has enjoyed a stellar first season at Inter since joining in a €40 million deal from Real Madrid last summer, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.

The Moroccan international scored a stoppage-time goal on Saturday to secure a 2-0 win away at Crotone, a result which ultimately guaranteed the Serie A title for Antonio Conte’s side.
