Earlier in the week, it was reported that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was imploring ways to get Achraf Hakimi to return from his two-year loan at Borussia Dortmund a full year early.
While Zidane is looking for competition and/or a successor for Marcelo, as Achraf has been developing way faster than expected, Dortmund football director Michael Zorc put those rumors to bed.
“There is no doubt. We talked with his agent and there’s not a single scenario where he doesn’t play for Borussia Dortmund next season,” said Zorc.
After scoring in his Bundesliga debut back in September, the 20-year-old became a regular starter under Lucien Favre before a broken metatarsal prematurely ended his season six weeks ago.
In 28 games in black and yellow, the 18-time Morrocan international has scored three goals and added seven assists.
