“I’ve developed a lot since I arrived in Germany,” the 20-year-old told reporters after the game, adding: “I have continuity here and I receive trust, which is the most important thing,” the right-back, who was utilised as a winger, said in Prague.
“It’s not on me what happens after that,” the Morrocan said, explaining: “Both clubs have to talk with each other and then make a decision. It wouldn’t be a defeat if I don’t return to Real Madrid this summer. I want to continue my development and am very well-integrated here.”
Hakimi joined Dortmund from Los Blanco’s youth setup in 2018 on a two-year loan. In the current season, he has scored three goals and provided one assist, mostly playing as left or right-back under Lucien Favre.
While he made hints during his goal celebration on Wednesday, he announced on Thursday together with his life partner Hiba Abouk that a baby is on the way.
“Yesterday, I promised my wife that I’ll go on the field with one objective: To score a goal to dedicate it to our future baby. The joy and enthusiasm made me score not one but two goals. Thanks to @Hiba_Abouk_ for makeing me feel the best feeling that can exist and for being my life partner and my best friend!”
