AC Milan players waved a banner suggesting that Inter could “shove the Coppa Italia up their a**” in the celebratory parade for their Serie A title win.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Rossoneri players displayed the rude banner aimed at their city rivals from their team bus during the parade.

The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri met four times throughout the season, with the derby clashes proving to be crucial to their successes in the Coppa Italia and Serie A respectively.

Milan won the second league derby after the first was a 1-1 draw, while the Nerazzurri got the better of the most recent meeting by winning the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final 3-0 to advance to the final, which they won by beating Juventus.

There were several ill-tempered and controversial moments between the derby clashes this season, including Inter players feeling that that Milan’s first goal in their 2-1 comeback win in February came after a foul.

The Rossoneri players also felt that their second half goal against Inter in the Coppa Italia second leg was wrongly disallowed, which could be partly why they decided to fly the offensive banner in reference to the competition specifically.
