The new stadium plans for Inter and AC Milan are beginning to pick up steam, with the Nerazzurri committed to building in the San Siro area whilst the Rossoneri would be somewhat more open to the Sesto San Giovanni option.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri remain very committed to building within the city of Milan as per the original plans, as the timeline becomes more clear.

The bureaucratic delays around the new stadium still exist, but there is now a clear idea of when they could clear up, and the sense is that if the public debate concludes in October as planned, construction on a new stadium in place of the San Siro could begin by the end of 2023.

The Nerazzurri feel that this is the best option and are very much hoping that they can build in line with the original plans, while the Rossoneri are still committed but could be likelier to have their heads turned by the Sesto option under new owner Gerry Cardinale.

Both teams remain very adamant on getting the stadium built as soon as possible given its importance for staying competitive.
