AC Milan have contacted Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential transfer, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Milan manager Stefano Pioli believes the Spaniard will be a valuable addition to the squad.

Traore’s contract at Molineux expires this season and his departure looks likely, having fallen down the pecking order of manager Julen Lopetegui.

The former Barcelona star has been with the Midlands outfit since 2018, and his form has plummeted in recent times.

He found game time hard to come by last season, making only two starts out of 34 appearances in the Premier League.

Serie A champions Napoli were previously linked with the 27-year-old, while AS Roma and Real Betis are currently in the frame.

A new right-winger is one of the priorities for Rossoneri in the transfer window following the departure of Brahim Diaz to Real Madrid.

Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias are the available options on the right flank, and the Rossoneri are looking to shore up the attack by signing Traore.

The Spaniard also has a great chance to revitalise his career under Pioli.

Milan haven’t had the greatest of starts to their summer transfer window, losing both technical director Paolo Maldini and star midfielder Sandro Tonali, with the latter agreeing a move to Newcastle United in an expensive deal.

However, they are looking to make up for it with a couple of imminent transfers.

They have reportedly reached an agreement for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek while also striking a deal with Lazio for Argentine youngster Luka Romero.

A deal for free agent Daichi Kamada has stalled, while Milan are competing with arch-rivals Inter Milan for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.
