Former AC Milan and Juventus striker Pippo Inzaghi lauded his brother Simone for his exploits at Inter Milan.

Pippo found more success than his younger brother during their playing days. He won a host of league titles as well as two Champions League trophies. He also lifted the 2006 FIFA World Cup with Italy.

Nevertheless, Simone has been by far the more flourishing sibling in the dugout. The 48-year-old placed himself on the map during his time at Lazio before earning a move to Inter in 2021.

The Nerazzurri boss can lift his first career Scudetto with a Derby victory over AC Milan. Pippo Inzaghi would be happy for his brother, even if his triumph comes at the expense of his beloved Rossoneri.

“I’m happy for my brother because he would fulfill his dream,” said the 50-year-old in his interview with DAZN via FcInterNews.

“I hope Milan win the Europa League. It would be the best scenario for me. But it will be a good match, with a sold-out stadium.

“Simone is an excellent man manager. He’s very good because no one would have survived what he went through last season. He let it all slide over him.

“Eventually, he succeeded in his own way. He outplayed Guardiola in the Champions League final.

The former Bologna and Salernitana coach also reveals how he and his brother used to scout their opponents even during their playing days.

” Simone and I studied our opponents a lot. I knew them perfectly. It wasn’t the defenders who marked me. Actually, I was the one who marked them because if I had to choose, I went to the one whom I could skip past the easier.

“These are things we try to teach, although they aren’t easy.”
