While it was recently reported that Union Berlin were showing interest in Union St Gilloise striker Victor Boniface, it appears that a number of Italian clubs are also tracking the 22-year-old striker. According to Het Nieuwsblad, AC Milan, Lazio and Napoli are all interested. The side from Naples are perhaps looking to replace a departing Victor Osimhen, and were also recently linked to another Pro League striker from Nigeria in Gift Orban.

According to HNB, the Belgian Union are willing to sell Boniface given the large amount of interest. However, in order to do so, any club must beat their previous record sale of €7m that Brighton paid for Denis Undaz last winter.

Boniface joined the club in the summer of 2022 for around €2.00m from Norway, where he had played 66 times for Glimt and scored 23 goals alongside eight assists. Boniface already has 14 goals for Union in just 39 game, while already matching the eight assists. The Nigerian has taken over from Denis Undav, and with Dante Vanzeir also having left, Boniface has become the main man for Union. He and Yorbe Vertessen have started to form what looks to be a promising partnership. However, against Union Berlin it was Simon Adingra who partnered the Nigerian striker, with the man on loan from Brighton also having a fine season in Belgium.
