AC Milan join hunt for Real Madrid star | OneFootball

Serie A giants AC Milan have set their sights on the signature of a departing member of the midfield ranks at Real Madrid.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Luka Modrić as the player in question.

Croatian international Modrić is of course primed to bring his legendary stint on the books of Real Madrid to a close over the weeks ahead.

After the brass in Spain’s capital made the call not to renew the 39-year-old’s expiring contract, Modrić was made aware that the upcoming Club World Cup would mark his Blancos swan song.

A number of clubs from across Europe and beyond are in turn expected to initiate imminent talks with the former Tottenham man’s agents.

And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, one such outfit could come in the form of AC Milan.

As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:

‘AC Milan new director Igli Tare dreams of bringing Luka Modrić to the club. He’s one of the names mentioned in initial internal talks.’

Modrić, for his part, is in no rush to come to a decision on his next destination.
