Milan have initiated contact with the Argentine youngster ahead of a potential €30 million summer move.

Almada has taken the United States by storm since his transfer last year, establishing himself as one of the best players in Major League Soccer.

His impressive form also led to a call-up to the Argentine national team as an injury replacement at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Almada has been in exquisite form this season, bagging seven goals and eight assists in 16 league games.

The former Velez Sarsfield star has turned the heads of several top European clubs and is expected to be on the move this summer.

Milan will have to fend off competition from Serie A rivals Napoli for his signature.

The newly-crowned Italian champions have identified the 22-year-old as a replacement for Piotr Zielinski, who could leave the club this summer.

Rossoneri are also actively looking for an attacking midfielder, with Brahim Diaz returning to Real Madrid after his loan and Charles De Ketelaere struggling to adapt to life at the San Siro.

De Ketelaere could leave Milan after just one season as manager Stefano Pioli is disappointed with the Belgian’s lack of confidence and doesn’t see him in his plans.

Milan are reportedly inching closer towards snapping up Daichi Kamada on a free transfer.

Samuel Chukwueze of Villarreal and free agent Marcus Thuram are also priority targets for the club.
