AC Milan are interested in signing Inter linked Olivier Giroud in the upcoming January transfer window to replace the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 34-year-old French forward, whose contract expires with Chelsea at the end of the season, has shown that he is still capable of scoring regularly this campaign despite his age, attracting the attention of both Milan clubs.
Giroud was previously close to a deal with Inter in January, but it collapsed as the Nerazzurri looked to focus on signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham instead, the report continues.
The Rossoneri are looking for a replacement for star forward Ibrahimovic, whose injury has shown that a strong alternative is required in order to keep them in the title race.
Giroud has made 14 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring eight goals in that time.
