After months of negotiating, AC Milan and Club Brugge have finally reached a deal for the transfer of Charles De Ketelaere.

The Italian champions have been keen on signing the 21-year-old all summer but have had multiple bids rejected by the Belgian club, who have been adamant that they will sell the player for no less than €35 million up-front.

A breakthrough was finally made at a meeting in Switzerland, during which Milan offered an initial €32 million with a potential further €3 million in bonuses.

Club Brugge were considering accepting the offer when De Ketelaere took the step of reducing his salary demands in an attempt to seal the deal, and it looks to have done the trick.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, an agreement has at last been reached and the transfer will be announced soon.
