Despite having yet to make a first-team appearance with AC Milan, 19-year-old goalkeeper Alessandro Plizzari has committed his future to the club.

On Tuesday, the club’s official website announced that the Italian youth international has penned an extension until 2023.

Plizzari has been stuck behind first-choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma but was named to the first-team squad on seven occasions this season.

Plizzari spent all of last season on loan at Serie B side Ternana, where he made 19 starts but only won three times and lost his place at the end of February as the club were relegated to Italy’s third division.

The youngster has also spent some of the season with Milan’s Primavera squad.
