Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano believes there is ‘absolutely nothing’ in the rumours linking Arsenal with Juventus ace, Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbia international snubbed Arsenal back in January. During the winter window, the forward opted to join Juventus from Fiorentina in a blockbuster £62million move.

Since arriving in Turin, Vlahovic has scored 13 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.

This season, the Old Lady has struggled for results, with Massimiliano Allegri’s men currently eighth in the Serie A table.

Juventus have won just one of their last six league games, with pressure mounting on the current manager.

Vlahovic kicked off the campaign with four goals in the opening four games. However, the player has since endured a dry spell, having failed to score in his last four games.

Speaking about the latest rumours linking the player with a move to Arsenal, Romano wrote in his CaughtOffside column: “I’m aware there’s been fresh speculation on this story, so I thought I’d set the record straight.

“At the moment there’s absolutely nothing between Dusan Vlahovic and Arsenal. We can’t predict the future but as of now there’s not even a direct contact.

“Vlahovic is key player for Juventus and they invested €75m plus add-ons for him, so it’s extremely unlikely.

“He was great last season with Juventus, this year all the players are not performing so I don’t think it’s Vlahovic’s fault that he’s not yet performed at his very best.”

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is understood to be a big fan of Vlahovic and his Juventus team-mate, Fabio Miretti.

In recent games, the Italy Under-21 international has forced himself into the first-team at the club.

The Gunners were not afraid to splash the cash during the summer, with the club spending over £118million on five new signings.

Striker Gabriel Jesus was one of the marquee names to arrive at the Emirates over the summer. The former Manchester City goalscorer appears to have found a new lease of life since moving to the capital.

With four goals and three assists to his name, the Brazilian has played a big part in Arsenal’s near-perfect start to the season.

The arrival of Vlahovic would further bolster Arsenal’s attacking options, though that appears to be a long-way from reality according to Romano.
