Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson has revealed his ambition of playing in the Premier League amid interest from Arsenal.

The Swede signed for the Bundesliga outfit from Malmo last summer and he has already established himself as a key player for the club.

His performances have caught the eye of the Gunners and when pressed on the speculation, he revealed his dream of playing in England.

He said: “Of course, I read when clubs are interested in me. But that was also the case in Malmo. I like to live in the here and now. And Eintracht is the perfect club for me to improve.”

“In Sweden, everyone is traditionally focused on the Premier League. And I absolutely dream of playing there one day too. But at the moment I feel very comfortable in the Bundesliga.”

Larrson is one of the players that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on, and he recently admitted that Declan Rice is his inspiration.

He told Kicker: “He’s a similar type of player to me. He does a lot of good things offensively and defensively – I look up to him.”

Larsson would be a good long-term prospect for Arsenal

The 19-year-old was relatively unknown during his time at Malmo but has come into the limelight with his consistent displays at Eintracht.

The youngster has had an impressive passing accuracy of 87 percent in the Bundesliga this season with almost five recoveries per game.

He has also registered 1.3 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 1.1 clearances on average and has lost on possession on just seven occasions per outing.

Larsson has also chipped in with two goals and two assists. He is more of a defensive-minded player who can also contribute in the final third.

He has attributes similar to Rice. Arsenal are tracking him and could be tempted to make a summer approach.

Eintracht currently value him as a staggering €80 million due to his huge potential.

Arsenal are unlikely to make such an outlay on Larsson, but a deal could be on the cards if he is available for around €30-40m this summer.
