How often do goalkeepers not finish the 90 minutes?
We’ll rephrase that. How often does your substitute goalkeeper not finish the 90 minutes?
That’s exactly what happened for Manchester City on Tuesday as Kyle Walker played the last 15 minutes in goal.
Ederson was withdrawn at half-time against Atalanta due to injury, before Claudio Bravo was sent off for bringing down Josip Iličić in a moment of madness.
Cue Walker who took the gloves – and Bravo’s shirt – and stood between the posts as City ground out a valuable 1-1 draw.
Not only did we get to experience an outfield player in goal, but he made more saves (1) than both Ederson and Bravo combined (0)!
