Tammy Abraham has arrived in Istanbul to complete his transfer from Roma to Besiktas. ‘I am so excited to be here’ and feels ‘proud’ to wear the jersey.
The documentation was signed last night and the player flew in this afternoon, where he will undergo the medical tests.
“It was a very long trip, but I am so excited to be here,” Abraham told the official Besiktas social media channels during a livestreamed arrival.
“I was recently in Turkey, not Istanbul, but I saw how beautiful and amazing this country is. It’s so nice to finally be in Istanbul and to finally wear the famous shirt that I used to see on TV. I feel so proud.”

The former Chelsea and Milan man was asked if he had a message for the fans of Besiktas.
“I am a player who is here to win. A club like this has amazing history, it speaks for itself. The fans are very passionate, they love football, they love their team, and that’s exactly like me. I will give everything I have for this team and hope to win some trophies.
“It’s a beautiful kit, I can’t wait to wear it in front of the fans and score my first goal.”
This is going to be a loan deal at a cost of €2m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for a further €13m, plus €2m in add-ons.
It is considerably lower than Roma’s original €20m asking price, but they were in a rush to get it completed by the close of June 30 to avoid Financial Fair Play penalties.
Abraham spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Milan, where he scored 10 goals in 45 competitive appearances for the club.
He joined Roma in 2021 from Chelsea and won two trophies, the Conference League in 2022 for Roma and the Supercoppa Italiana at Milan in 2025.
