According to a report by Foot Mercato, Stade Brestois have found their replacement for Lilian Brassier (24) with the Brittany side close to an agreement for ESTAC Troyes’ Abdoulaye Ndiaye (22).
Brassier had been a key part of the squad’s historic season last campaign where they secured Champions League football for the first time in the club’s history. However, other clubs were sure to come swooping for their talent and Brassier soon left for Olympique de Marseille.
Ndiaye had been a rare bright spot in Troyes’ otherwise disappointing season that saw the club relegated (although they will likely now remain in Ligue 2 due to the administrative relegation to FC Girondins de Bordeaux).
Last winter, RC Lens had been keen on trying to steal Ndiaye away from Troyes for a 10 million bid but without any success. However, he will now be leaving on a loan deal to Brest with an option to purchase for €9 million.
