Rangers’ on-loan forward Abdallah Sima has once again confirmed he’d potentially like to stay at Rangers beyond the summer, as the Brighton attacker continued his return into Rangers’ team following injury.

The 22-year-old, who has returned to Rangers in impressive form, and seems considerably-improved upon the very careless player he was before the injury, has reiterated his happiness at Rangers and that he has an eye on staying in Govan.

And the good news for Rangers fans is the club can afford his fee.

Sima set back Brighton around £6M, and while they are not a charity and will not tolerate a loss on the Senegal international, Rangers have the summer budget to make that deal a permanent one at that price if the Seagulls agree to accept recouping what they paid.

Now, the Brighton trading model, arguably the world’s best, has seen a staggering £250M come into Roberto De Zerbi’s side in the past 18 months, with many fingers pointing at Mac Alister and Caicedo as two stunning examples of getting players for small fees then selling for the colossal numbers.

But Sima hasn’t quite shone on loan the way Brighton usually see with their new signings, and while it’s been better from him at Rangers, the SPL is not viewed with credibility by Premier League clubs and Sima is a player they are happy to let go.

It hasn’t worked out for them with that addition.

This opens the door for Rangers:

“You never know (about a permanent move to Rangers) in football, anything can happen. But my last season wasn’t perfect. So for me the most important thing is where I feel happy and I feel happy here. I always say that. I have everything here to feel happy and I am also playing football. But I am just focused on my season now. We have hopefully got seven games left. Then we are going to think about the future.”

Ibrox Noise has been impressed with his performances since coming back – he appears maturer and less careless with the ball, a much better level of passing and doesn’t lose it so recklessly.

He’s also got a goal or two as well.

Whether we’d fully endorse the club investing around £6M on Sima to get him permanently though we’re not completely sure.
