Kidd, who scored the two goals for Dundee that defeated Hearts in May 1986 to deliver the most unlikely of all title wins for Celtic, also met the new Celtic coach Harry Kewell who he describes as possibly the best ever Australian footballer and also gave his thoughts on Celtic’s recent signing Aaron Mooy and reckons that the current Socceroos star can fill the boots of former club captain and Celtic legend Scott Brown.

“He needs some game time at Celtic,” Albert Kidd told Scottish Sun.”He went to China for a while and did well. But he’s come to a big club in Celtic and he’s got to be at his best.

“He’s always been a good player. He was maybe a bit one-paced, but he keeps the ball really well.

“You can reminisce about Scott Brown being there and keeping the ball for Celtic. Aaron might slot into that role there. Rogic is a great ball player and good lad but he’s not a leader.

“Aaron can hopefully become a Broony — that’s what you need in the middle of the park.”
