Young Manchester City striker Liam Delap appears set for a permanent exit from the world champions this summer. Delap spent this season on loan at Hull City as he further developed his game. But a new report indicates that his time at Manchester City may be up as the champions look to sell the young striker.

Transfer expert Alan Nixon has reported via his exclusive Patreon page that the champions will likely sell Delap this summer. Furthermore, Nixon also reports that Manchester City would demand a fee of around £10 million for the young attacker. Nixon further reports that the champions would like to include a buy-back clause in any potential deal where they sell Liam Delap.

Liam Delap showed some promising signs this season during his loan spell at Hull City. He made 32 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers. Delap scored 8 goals and contributed 2 assists in those games. His versatility to play either on the right wing or up front was on show for Hull City. That attribute was a standout feature of his play as he learnt his craft in arguably the toughest league in European football.

Delap rose to prominence as he graduated through Manchester City’s youth system. He made 6 first team appearances for the world champions and scored 1 goal. Following his break through to the City first team, Liam Delap had unsuccessful loan spells and Preston North End and Stoke City. This season saw the young attacker show more of his game as he was a key contributor for Hull City before he missed the final stages of this season with a knee injury.

If Manchester City could land a fee of £10 million for Delap, it would represent a good piece of business for the champions. With Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez blocking Delap’s route to the City first team, a permanent move does appear best for all parties. If the youngster can secure a move elsewhere and build on the promise he showed during his City Academy career, a buy-back clause in any sale could see Delap one day return to Manchester City.
