Hull City look set to lose Keane Lewis-Potter before the beginning of the 2022/23 season, despite attempts to price clubs out of a deal for the 21-year-old this summer.

Brentford are the favourites to land the exciting winger, as per HullLive, with the Tigers set to recoup a fee in the region of £16 million for his services.

The jury is still out on the potential of Acun Ilicali’s ownership of the club and Shota Arveladze’s ability at the helm, but the majority of supporters were resigned to the fact that Lewis-Potter would be moving on to a higher level.

FLW’s Hull City fan pundit Ant Northgraves was not too disappointed by the seemingly inevitable sale.

Speaking to Football League World, Northgraves said“All Hull City fans knew that realistically we weren’t likely to keep hold of Keane Lewis-Potter this summer.

“His stock rose substantially over the last season or so, he had a good League One season last year and he’s continued and got better this year in a higher league.

“Top scouts are going to be looking at that and thinking, ‘he’s a young English lad, he’s a winger, he’s versatile, he can play different positions and be just as effective, he’s just become an England U21 international’.

“The sentimental side of us fans wanted to see him stay, he’s a local lad and we love him and he loves the club, but we also can’t stand in the way of his career.

“If the Premier League comes calling, bigger money, a chance to progress his career and really push on to be a top player, similar to what Jarrod Bowen did, we can’t hold him back from that.

“As long as we get a good fee for him that’s reinvested in the side, I think it’s okay.

“But at the moment, the signings aren’t really coming in thick and fast, it’s kind of a worry for some, but the more level-headed of us remain calm and optimistic that without Keane Lewis-Potter, we can replace him and have a successful season.”
