When stars such as Lionel Messi, Neymar or Kylian Mbappé step up for a free-kick, it’s unsurprising when it finds the back of the net.
However, none of them currently hold the title of Ligue 1’s best dead-ball specialist.

That honour goes to Toulouse midfielder Branco van den Boomen.
The 27-year-old Dutchman opened the scoring against Paris Saint Germain on Saturday when his free-kick left goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma stunned.
He now has five direct free-kick goals to his name since his club debut in August 2020.
