A Ruud van Nistelrooy miracle vs Manchester United?

Only ten games remain for Leicester. Many of the matches as of late have been embarrassing. This recent performance against Chelsea, however, did invite some room for optimism. With only 30 points available left, results need to come. Playing better was an encouraging sign, but signs of encouragement will not be enough at this point in the Premier League season.

The Foxes face Manchester United next. While the Red Devils are likely to be favored, this could be a chance for Ruud van Nistelrooy to at least force a draw.

Simply put, Ruben Amorim's team hasn't played well over the weeks. At times, they've had inspiring performances, and these have been followed by true horror shows. This level of inconsistency gives RvN the chance to potentially take advantage.

It will require the players, however, to play with this newfound, renewed spirit again. There simply isn't enough quality for this roster to not give 100% effort. If LCFC comes out with a strong, cohesive spirit, they stand a chance to at least get a point. Starting flat-footed and allowing too much pressure too soon will be a lot for the side to overcome.

Chance for revenge far from the Leicester boss' mind

Of course, van Nistelrooy and United have a history together. He not only played up top at Old Trafford for a while, but he also spent years on the touchline in a managerial role as well. This aspect of proving his former club to be in the wrong for moving on from him will be far from his mind, though.

Instead, RvN will want to lead the Foxes to a good performance as they continue to fight for their lives in the Premier League.

Their last FA Cup encounter ended in controversy. The EPL encounter, however, resulted in a large 3-0 defeat in Manchester. This game was famously the last match of van Nistelrooy's tenure as interim manager before joining City.
