Paul Robinson urges Leeds United to sign Tottenham Hotspur outcast Danny Rose

Speaking to Football Insider (h/t Leeds  Live), Former Tottenham Hotspur star Paul Robinson has urged Leeds United to make a move for Danny Rose.

The left-back started his career at Elland Road before moving to Spurs in 2007. He is in talks to terminate his contract at the club after failing to secure a move away in the summer transfer window.

Rose has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham over the last few months. He in fact spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle. A return to North London has done little to improve his chances.

The defender’s future at the club appears to be over. He was omitted from both our Europa League and Premier League squads for the season.

The falling out with Jose Mourinho last November did little to improve matters. In fact, the 30-year-old last featured for Spurs in our 1-0 loss at home to Liverpool on January 11.

Leeds are currently reeling from a number of injuries in their defence. Robinson is keen to see Rose play and believes Leeds will do well to move for the Spurs man.

The Elland Road outfit already have the likes of Stuart Dallas and Alioski at left-back. However, bringing in someone like Danny Rose, especially on a free transfer, would be a no-brainer.

Parting ways would be the best way forward for all parties involved. Tottenham, for their part, will save £70,000 per week in wages. While paying him off could cost us in the short term, we can do without having to pay him wages until June 2021.
