LAUTARO 150 AND THE BARRIER

A split second to take the ball and shoot. Electric, just like the fans. Lautaro Martinez equalised in the 58th minute following Harry Kane's opener. It was a flash of brilliance, following Dimarco's corner from the left. The ball stayed in the box, Kimmich couldn't clear it and then within an instant, Lautaro lept over the advertising boards to climb the barrier and celebrate with the fans. We've seen this scene before, like in the Champions League semi-final against AC Milan. Classic Lautaro, the talisman. The goal was a pure boost of energy, and one that marked a page in the history books: it was his 150th for Inter (here's the analysis).

SAN SIRO GOES WILD AS PAVARD SCORES

Total delirium at San Siro. From Lautaro's goal, the match became an epic. The time between Inter's equaliser and lead deserves a place in the San Siro history books. It was a moment that was difficult to describe, everyone in the stadium was on their feet, screaming their hearts out and pushing the team on. Inzaghi's side responded, playing with a clear renewed energy. In a flash, Bayern were on the ropes, Darmian went close following a brilliant move which Dier cleared off of the line. Corner, Calhanoglu stepped up: Pavard rose and scored. His first goal for Inter, against his former team, and the entire stadium stood and sang "Giro l'Italia per te".

THE FINAL STAGES

Dier's goal in the 75th minuted opened up a new chapter in an already difficult match. The substitutions gave Bayern a new lease of life. The match seemed like it would never end. Balls flew into the box, Sommer denied the equaliser and bodies were thrown to provide blocks, shots were mishit and the Bayern keeper even joined in on the action. The embrace between Sommer and Acerbi was a sign that the result had been sealed, after Coman's shot sailed over the bar. The fans didn't leave. San Siro stayed full to the rafters, everyone in full voice minutes after the final whistle. The rain stopped, but the wind kept blowing on a night that belonged to the Nerazzurri.
