Ossie Ardiles claims Tottenham Hotspur are in ‘better shape’ than Arsenal despite Harry Kane transfer saga

Speaking to the Express on behalf of Casumo, Tottenham Hotspur legend Ossie Ardiles believes Spurs are in better shape than Arsenal despite the Harry Kane saga this summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo has done a reasonable job at Tottenham as he has secured 3 victories out of his first five Premier League games.

While the club have suffered two poor 3-0 defeats to London rivals Crystal Palace & Chelsea, they are still active in the UEFA Europa Conference League and the EFL Cup as well. Moreover, Nuno also managed to keep Harry Kane at the club this summer despite a lot of interest.

Manchester City were eager on signing Spurs’ prized asset and also had a £100million bid rejected by the North London outfit during the transfer window. Although they kept trying to sign the 28-year-old striker, the Englishman remained at Tottenham this summer.

Club legend Ossie Ardiles has now explained why he feels Spurs are in a better shape than Arsenal despite the uncertainty surrounding Harry Kane’s future this summer. Ardiles told Express:

“I think Tottenham are in better shape [than Arsenal]. I think there has been a lot of noise. I mean, we didn’t know if Harry Kane was staying or going. So, at the end of the day, he is staying with us, and we are absolutely delighted. “Harry is one of the very, very best players in the Premier League. So, to be with us is great, Heung-min Son is there too, a wonderful player. We bought a great, great player in Cristian Romero, he was probably the best defender in Italy.” Tottenham retained Harry Kane’s services this season despite Manchester City interest. (imago Images)

Although Kane has not scored in the Premier League this season, a goal against Arsenal to lead the team to a win will do wonders for Nuno’s men as they look to compete on all fronts this season.
