Making it to a Champions League final is never easy. This year, though, Real Madrid's efforts are all the more remarkable, given the stature of opposition they have come past on their way. Our team will go in search of their fourteenth European Cup having enjoyed a spectacular run in this year's edition. First, they finished top in the Group Stage, before going on to see off PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City en route to Paris.

Group D winners Inter, Sheriff and Shakhtar Donetsk were the Group Stage opposition for Ancelotti's side, who recorded five wins and a defeat to finish top of the table with 15 points, five more than Inter. Madrid won both games against the Italian outfit (0-1 and 2-0), also doing the double over Shakhtar (0-5 and 2-1), dropping their only points at home to Sheriff (1-2), before beating them on the road (0-3).

Magical night against PSG Real Madrid's legendary Bernabéu lore in Europe showed its force once again in the Round of 16 against PSG. Having lost 1-0 in Paris and being 1-0 down in the return leg heading into the 60th minute, our team set about sealing a historic comeback, as Benzema smashed a hat-trick to turn the game and the tie on its head. Benzema decides Chelsea clash in extra-time In the quarter-finals Madrid delivered a sensational first-leg performance at Stamford Bridge. Benzema notched another triple to give Ancelotti's men a solid advantage (1-3). However, Chelsea turned the tie around at the Bernabéu, racing to a 0-3 lead on 75’. Against the odds, Rodrygo struck to take the game to extra-time, where Benzema did the rest to tip the balance in our team's favour (2-3).

Another epic turnaround in the semi-finals Just as it seemed as though Madrid couldn't possibly defied logic in this season's Champions League any more than they already had, cue their tie with Manchester City. The first leg on the road ended in a tight 4-3 win for the English side. Benzema (2) and Vini Jr. were on the scoresheet for the madridistas. At the Bernabéu, the game headed into the 89th minute at 0-1. Suddenly, a quick-fire Rodrygo double forced extra-time, where Benzema's penalty made sure of Real Madrid's place in Paris.
