Manchester United fans react on Twitter as Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard star in England victory over Andorra

Manchester United, Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard proved pivotal for England in their 5-0 victory against Andorra in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Three Lions got a step closer to become one of the first teams to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as they produced a smooth performance against minnows Andorra. Gareth Southgate maintained his run of not losing in the qualifiers, thanks to goals from Ben Chilwell, Bukayo Saka, Tammy Abraham, James Ward Prowse, and Jack Grealish.

However, two other players who were highly influential on the night were Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard. England’s first goal was set up by the former Borussia Dortmund man himself after he found himself on the end of a wonderful pass by Phil Foden. Sancho got the ball down and then unselfishly played Chilwell in, who scored.

The third goal was perhaps a far more telling display of Sancho’s creative instincts as he crossed the ball into the perfect area as Tammy Abraham found himself in acres of space and tapped the ball into the back of the net.

Although Lingard failed to get in on the act in any of the goals, he was playing in a far deeper role than his usual position and was conducting play from time to time. The 28-year-old showcased the depth of his versatility as it allowed Southgate to approach games differently.

With the Three Lions set to face Hungary on Tuesday night, both Sancho and Lingard will be hoping to retain their spot and get some much-needed minutes under the belt.

Let us now take a look at how some of the United fans reacted on Twitter to the duo’s starry performance on the day.
