Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Thiago Alcantara could be fit for Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The midfielder suffered an injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield last Sunday.

However, Klopp said that there is a "good chance" that Thiago will be able to feature against the La Liga giants.

"I only met him now inside… a good chance. So he will be training this afternoon," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

“He did some stuff this morning, it was not planned that he was doing this session with the players. In the moment, it looks like he can be part of training tomorrow. That would be pretty helpful obviously and then we go from there.

“It’s surprisingly good. After the game (on Sunday) I was not really positive about it but we got news then that night already that it doesn’t look that bad and from there we went. Now we will see.

“I can imagine everybody thinks now, ‘Three days before a game, cannot train…’ But we just have to be sure we do the right stuff in the right moment and that’s what we try.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

This is unbelievable news for Liverpool. Thiago has played 38 games for the Reds this season and he's been a key reason why we've had a successful campaign.

The Spaniard has had injury issues since joining the Reds, but this season, he has been able to stay fit for the most part and that has massively benefited Klopp's side.

Even if he is only 60% fit against Real Madrid, I'd still start him. He is so key to our midfield and the vision that he has from the middle of the park can't be replicated by anyone else in the Liverpool squad.

With three days still to go until the final, it's great news that he was able to train with the team today.

All the signs are pointing to the fact that he could play a part in the Champions League final!
