One player who does not have a future at Manchester City is right-back Issa Kabore. Kabore spent last season out on loan at Benfica and Werder Bremen. But the young right-back failed to have a significant impact at either club. Despite Pep Guardiola’s squad desperately needing a right-back, Kabore is surplus to requirements at Manchester City. It has now emerged that there is a host of clubs interested in signing Kabore. It may be only a matter of time before the young right-back leaves City.
Esteemed Kompany sources have learned that there is a host of clubs interested in signing Issa Kabore before the transfer window closes. Ligue One side Paris FC is interested in signing Kabore in a loan deal, which includes an option to make Kabore’s move to Paris FC permanent. That is one club that is pushing to sign Kabore.
It has also been revealed that Leicester City and Ipswich Town are interested in signing Manchester City’s forgotten right-back. Both clubs are eager to strengthen their defence and see Kabore as a player who could improve the right-back position. Lyon and Hamburger SV are all also monitoring Issa Kabore and could make a move for the young defender before the transfer window closes.
The best move for Issa Kabore would be to find a club where he can have the opportunity to play regular first-team football. Or have the chance to compete for regular minutes. The young right-back’s career has stalled after a successful loan spell at Luton Town during the 23/24 season. Last season was a frustrating experience for the young defender, and he is approaching the age where he needs to kick on as a player. He won’t get that opportunity at Manchester City. Kabore isn’t at the level required to be a consistent player for Pep Guardiola’s side. So a summer move is in his best interests.
From a Manchester City point of view, the fact that there is a host of clubs interested in signing Issa Kabore. The hope is that City can secure a good deal to let the young defender leave the club. If they can secure a permanent deal for Kabore, that would be a win for City.
Issa Kabore looks set to leave Manchester City before the transfer window closes. It is just a matter of which club will sign the young right-back based on what Esteemed Kompany sources have discovered.
