Atlético Madrid star Jan Oblak has refused to hold back, in making his feelings with the club’s current run of form known.

Atlético, of course, endured another evening to forget on Sunday.

Fresh off being sent packing from the Champions League in midweek, Diego Simeone’s troops turned attentions back towards matters in La Liga, in a meeting with lowly Alavés.

After Athletic Club dropped yet more points on Friday, the Rojiblancos headed into proceedings at Mendizorroza in the knowledge that an eventual victory could prove a significant one in their pursuit of a top-4 berth.

When all was said and done, however, a dismal performance culminated in Atléti being put to the sword by two goals to nil.

Speaking to the media on the back of what proved nothing short of a nightmare week for his side, the aforementioned Jan Oblak, in turn, was drawn on exactly what is going wrong on the red half of the Madrid divide at present.

And the Slovenian made use of the opportunity to lash out, going as far as to claim that he and his teammates find themselves in the midst of ‘a fatal dynamic’:

“It was a bad game that we lost, you can’t say much,” Oblak began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “We had some chances at the end but we weren’t good.

“We should do much better. Alavés needed the three points, but we played poorly. They put pressure on us, we didn’t get the ball back, they marked us, it happens to us lately. We are in a bad dynamic and disappointed by the defeat. We didn’t do enough, like so many times this year. It tastes bad.

“We made mistakes and they scored great goals, which they normally don’t do so often. But with us it seems that everything fits. We have entered a fatal dynamic, we have been saying all year that we have to improve. And we haven’t done it. If we don’t improve it’s going to be very hard until the end.”
