A decisive week in OGC Nice’s season?

With just six games remaining in OGC Nice’s Ligue 1 season, the Riviera club, like everyone else, are entering into money-time. For much of the season, Les Aiglons have been comfortably on the podium, synonymous with a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, however, after just one win in their last nine in the league, Nice have slumped to fifth and are just one point above sixth-placed RC Lens.

Sixth would be good enough for qualification for next season’s UEFA Europa Conference League, which is the minimum expectation for Les Aiglons. With three games (Lorient, Marseille, Strasbourg) in just over the space of a week, the next few days could come to define Nice’s season.

“A decisive week? It isn’t a week where we can win everything or lose everything but it will be a fundamental step in allowing us to reach our objectives. I think the table will be decided in the final minutes of the final day of the season,” said Nice manager Francesco Farioli in response to a question, posed by Get French Football News.

Pablo Rosario shared the Italian manager’s outlook, stating that his thoughts were on Le Gym’s next match, on Friday. “We can’t win or lose everything this week, but it is a really important week. It starts with Lorient. We’ll see after that,” he said.
