A Black Hole and a “Phenomenal post from someone on the talk Celtic forum”

The dictionary defines a black hole as a region where the gravity is so strong that no light can escape from it and it gives as an example, the Board of Celtic Football Club, specifically in times of crisis. That last bit is not in the dictionary but it is very apt at the moment.

Neil Lennon is to continue as manager for the present. I might not agree with that but to a certain extent I can understand it. What I can’t understand is the lack any statement from the Board as to why it is in the best interests of the football club and what is going to change.

Surely, something has to change? We have tried everything including numerous changes to the playing personnel, changing tactics (usually after conceding), protecting the players in post match comments, throwing them under the bus, over promising and under delivering, employing a psychologist and crossing all fingers. All to no avail, and we have progressed from a blip to a crisis to what is arguably now an internecine war.

Doesn’t matter how you describe it, only the Board can stop us doing further damage to ourselves, both on and on the park. Is it too much to ask them to show some leadership and shed some light into this darkness?

If nothing material is to change, we are left wishing and hoping and praying for a seismic change in performance and results. We travel to Milan more in hope than expectation and as somebody else once said, it’s the hope that kills you. To be honest, even the pre-match hope has been extinguished and now is the time to prepare mentally for another drubbing on Thursday.
