‘A big opportunity for us’ – Kane on Chelsea clash
Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane wants us to take our chance today and come away with all three points from a huge Premier League clash with Chelsea.
We have had our difficulties against the Blues in recent years, including a 3-0 aggregate defeat earlier this month in the Carabao Cup semi-finals, but, as we come into this game unbeaten in the league under Antonio Conte so far and with the chance to move into the top four with victory, Harry believes, by being organised and fully focussed, we can get a positive result at Stamford Bridge.
“It’s a big opportunity for us,” our number 10 said. “Obviously, we are on a good run with a few late goals coming for us in the last couple of games in the Premier League, but we’re coming up against a very good side. It’s going to be a real test today. They knocked us out of the cup in the last couple of weeks, so we’ll try to put that right today.
“We lost those games in the first half really, conceded sloppy goals and then struggled to get back into the game. So, being compact, being focussed, especially in the first half, trying to stay stable and we feel like, with our physical condition, we can take the game deep and see if we can win the game in the second half.
“If we have ambitions of being as high up in the league as possible, these are the teams we are going to have to beat. Obviously, Chelsea are a top team and they have shown that this season but, like I said, we are on a good run of form, it’ll be a tough game out there but hopefully we can send our fans home happy.”
