The Eintracht players and staff were thrilled with the Eagles’ fighting spirit and character in the win over Mönchengladbach.

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “It was a great battling, spirited performance at the back. We struggled a lot in the first half. You could tell we weren’t particularly proactive or agile. We were chasing the ball a lot and were a bit unsettled. I’m very happy with the first 20 to 25 minutes of the second half, when we played really good football and scored very nice goals. After the second yellow card [for Tuta], it was a different game again. It was then a matter of mobilising all our efforts. The lads did just that again, threw themselves in front of every shot and if anyone got through, Kevin [Trapp] was there. In the end, it was a fantastic away win.”

Kevin Trapp: “Looking at the entire duration of the game, we deserved to win – although we were definitely a little fortunate at the back. We fought hard though and did a lot to win the game. After the second yellow card we knew we were up against it. It’s important for us to stop our inconsistent performances.”

Jesper Lindström: “I feel fantastic after this win. This team is just amazing. It’s so much fun to be here and to play football with this team. It’s important to me to help the team, and I did that today with my goal and assist. The game was a fight, but we showed the right mentality – even with only ten men in the last 20 minutes.”
