96 touches, 100% long balls, 7 key passes: £32m star was Arsenal’s best player vs Leicester after Martinelli & Trossard | OneFootball

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-2 victory over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners went into the game as firm favourites and they had a resounding 2-0 advantage at the break after goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

However, the complexion of the game changed immediately after the interval. James Justin scored with a header from a free-kick. He found the net after a big deflection off Kai Havertz.

Justin went on to equalise for the Foxes with an outstanding volley in the 63rd minute.

Foxes goalkeeper Mads Hermansen had an extraordinary day between the sticks, but Arsenal eventually came on top after Trossard induced an own goal from Wilfred Ndidi in stoppage time.

Havertz put the gloss on the performance with the Gunners’ fourth before the final whistle.

Arsenal had 37 attempts and 17 shots on target and they could have won by a bigger margin.

There were plenty of positives from the game. Trossard was exceptional with two goal involvements while Saka was equally crucial with his chance creation from the right wing.

Martinelli also looked back to his best with a goal and an assist in the opening half.

However, we were particularly impressed with the performance of Timber, who was superb from the right-back position over the course of 90 minutes against the Foxes.

The £32 million-rated star had 96 touches with a passing accuracy of 93 percent. He created seven chances while winning five ground duels, two tackles and completing 100% of his long balls.

Timber has fared brilliantly from right-back in the last few outings.

The former Ajax man produced a good defensive shift against Manchester City last weekend, and he showed his attacking best versus Steve Cooper’s side on Saturday.

Ben White was not in the matchday squad as he continues to nurse a minor knee injury. Judging by Timber’s current form, White may have to earn his starting place back.
