94 years ago today, Real Madrid played their first LaLiga game. The Whites made their debut in the competition on 10 February 1929, when they hosted Europa at the Chamartín stadium on the opening day of the league campaign. Four goals from Lazcano, who was the first Madrid goal scorer in the domestic competition, and one from Morera ensured a 5-0 triumph.

Ten teams participated in that first edition, and Real Madrid finished as runners-up with a record of 11 wins, 1 draw and 6 defeats. The match against Europa was the launching pad for the club's legacy in LaLiga, a league in which the madridistas have amassed a record 35 titles.
