Manchester United bowed out of the FA Cup following a disappointing penalty shoot-out defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils created plenty of goalscoring chances in the fifth round tie but lacked the cutting edge in the final third.

Rasmus Hojlund was picked to lead the attack again but the Dane failed to impress. He was substituted in the 68th minute.

The 22-year-old had just nine touches and two passes. He won one out of his five duels and did not complete a dribble (0/2).

There were no surprises that he was substituted early. 17-year-old Chido Obi came off the bench and fared much better than him.

The youngster squandered three big chances to score but he was way effective up front, winning four ground and aerial duels.

Obi had 18 touches, completing 100 percent of his dribbles (2/2). He could have scored the match winner in extra time if not for Bernd Leno’s brilliant reflexes.

The teenager had a better outing than Hojlund in 52 minutes. In our view, Amorim must consider axing the latter from the starting line-up. Obi should make his full debut.

Hojlund has not scored in his last 17 games for United. His confidence is at a low and Amorim may need to change things up front against Real Sociedad.

The Red Devils travel to the Basque outfit for the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie.

United have struggled against Spanish opposition in Europe. They must turn up with a better display to secure an advantage for the reverse leg at home.

The club could be without another key player for the midweek encounter. Harry Maguire sustained an injury which contributed to his late substitution.
