Mexico manager Tata Martino began the preparatory work for El Tri’s friendly matches against Costa Rica and the Netherlands, which will take place on 30 September and 7 October, respectively.
Although some players reported on Saturday night to the facilities of the High Performance Center, the participants of the Clásico Nacional joined the national team on Sunday night.
Guillermo Ochoa, Jorge Sánchez, Sebastián Córdova, Henry Martín, Uriel Antuna, Gilberto Sepúlveda, Alexis Vega, José Juan Macías, and Fernando Beltrán have been placed under Martino’s command.
All members of El Tri will report back to their clubs on Thursday to prepare for this weekend’s Liga MX fixtures.
This process is especially special for Fernando Beltrán, who was called up for the very first time. Gilberto Sepúlveda was called up for last year’s Nations League matches against Panama and Bermuda but has yet to register his first minutes with Mexico.
