8 miss out as Real Betis name squad to face Valencia | OneFootball

The squad of players called upon by the coaching staff at Real Betis for the club’s upcoming meeting with Valencia has on Thursday been unveiled.

And it features a host of noteworthy absentees.

Betis are primed to close out their domestic campaign on Saturday afternoon, when they play host to the aforementioned Valencia as part of the season’s final round of La Liga fixtures.

The Verdiblancos head into the matchup with one eye already on next week, then they will lock horns with Premier League giants Chelsea in the finale of the Europa Conference League.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of Manuel Pellegrini taking no risks when it comes to the members of his squad lacking full fitness.

Left out of Betis’ latest squad are key midfield pair Johnny Cardoso and Giovani Lo Celso, both of whom are understood to be dealing with minor issues.

Also nowhere to be seen, meanwhile, are any of Fran Vieites, Hector Bellerín, Marc Roca, Chimy Ávila, Youssouf Sabaly, or Diego Llorente.
