75% of French people think PSG & Istanbul Basaksehir were right to walk off the pitch last week

In a poll conducted by Odexa and RTL, 75% of French people surveyed affirmed that PSG and Istanbul Basaksehir’s players were right to walk off the pitch after 4th official Sebastian Coltescu referred to the Turkish team’s assistant manager, Pierre Webo, as “Negru”, meaning black in Romanian.

This number rose to 81% among French people under the age of 25.

57% of all people surveyed deemed Coltescu’s actions as racist, with this rising amongst people under the age of 35 (60%).

66% of French people feel that discrimination is prevalent in sport, with 52% feeling that sportspeople don’t do enough to fight against it.

Coltescu has since had conversations with Demba Ba and the duo are understood to have made up.
