Serie A centre backs are up for sale – and Chelsea are buying.

Having lost two first team defenders on free transfers, The Blues have been heavily linked with Milan Skriniar, and today Football Italia are reporting that his team Inter Milan want €70m to sell him this summer.

That doesn’t compare favourably with the €40m that Napoli are asking for Kalidou Koulibaly. The Senegalese is four years older, which makes all the difference of course, but he’s also been playing at the top of his game for even longer than Skriniar.

Both are good players, in their prime, but at almost double the price, we would rather Koulibaly than Skriniar, regardless of his age.

Each will demand a large contract – and both look very likely to end up in the Premier League in the near future, if not this summer.

Whether one ends up Chelsea, we will have to see.
