Glen Kamara is FINALLY set to get his ‘escape route’ from Ibrox after French giants Nantes, alerted by Nice’s interest in the summer, jumped into the race to add the Finnish Rangers star to their roster preparing a bid approaching £10M.

After media from Italy claimed Serie A side Salernitana have turned their attention elsewhere from Kamara, the Ligue 1 side have joined the queue for his signature, with the former Arsenal kid certainly in big demand now.

Despite the ‘downing tools’ nature of his 2022 with Rangers, his talent and reputation haven’t taken that much of a hit and he’s still a coveted player with just 18 months left on his deal – £6M-£10M as posited numbers of a bid range would represent excellent business for a player who doesn’t want to be at Ibrox any longer.

Yes, there’s been word of Michael Beale giving Kamara a ‘second chance’ at Rangers by making him a big part of his regime in Govan, but end of the day, Kamara wanted to leave Glasgow well before Steven Gerrard left so Beale’s return is rather moot.

Beale wants Kamara a lot more than Kamara wants to stay, and if Nantes follow up their interest with a hard bid, there’s no question Rangers would have to accept it on the ground of Kamara’s desire to move on. And we’re not writing off Salernitana either, despite Italian press alleging they’ve moved on from the former Dundee man.

No, this is a bid, if it does come in, Rangers should and must accept, and would be a similar number and circumstance to Joe Aribo who left for Southampton at around the same price and period left on his contract.

Kamara’s spell at Ibrox has been at an end for a long time, and he’s even admitted his eyes are elsewhere with wanting to move on, the sooner the switch can be found for Rangers’ midfielder the better.

We also wouldn’t discount Nice themselves coming back in with another offer, well aware the one they made last summer would probably be accepted now.
