Acceptance is important in football, and FC Barcelona learned that the hard way. After suffering the economic consequences that they did, La Blaugrana had to find out that they could no longer rely on high-profile signings to bail them out. Instead, Barcelona have had to come to the dire realization that their own homegrown talents must be resorted towards for the top level.

That same acceptance comes from within as well, for various players. One player who had to deal with this problem was Jules Kounde, a Barcelona defender who has had to adapt to a new position despite original reports constantly suggesting that the Frenchman was not completely on board about the idea of playing there.

Now playing as a right-sided fullback, many believe that this position is far away from being his ideal one, as he arrived from Sevilla primarily making a name for himself as a central defender. However, SPORT reveals that the player has now completely accepted his fate in a positive manner.

Understanding that he may never get to play as a central defender again, mainly due to the competition in that position in both Barcelona and the French National team, the 25-year-old defender has decided that he will instead look to perfect his craft as a fullback, something that actually allows him to be competitive for at both club and National level.

With the emergence of Pau Cubarsi and other defensive talents who aspire to take over the central defender role for the years to come, Kounde knows it is important to make his place more resolute as a fullback.

For this, as per SPORT, the player has been going to the extent of practicing specifically to improve his game from the wide channels. Crossing, driving in, and overlapping are some of the things he has looked to improve, and even practices them specifically in training.
