Phil Foden blasted past 50 Premier League goals in the 4-0 victory at Brighton.
It was a vital victory in our quest for the title as the win put us into second, just one point behind Arsenal but with a game in hand.
Our 23-year-old bagged a brace at the Amex – his 50thand 51st top-flight goal under Pep Guardiola.
The landmark was reached in 160 games and has been made up of 39 left foot goals, 10 right foot efforts and two headers.
He’s scored 42 inside the box, nine outside the box, with two from direct free-kicks.
In a weird quirk of fate, Brighton are the team he’s scored most of those 51 goals against – eight in total.
Next up is Manchester United with six, Brentford with five while he’s bagged four against Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Everton.
He’s hit three against Liverpool and two against Burnley, Newcastle, Tottenham, West Ham and Wolves with solitary goals against Arsenal and Chelsea.
This 2023/24 season is already his most lucrative in the top-flight, having scored 16 so far from 31 appearances.
In 2022/23, where he helped us win the Treble, he found 11 goals in 32 appearances while in 2021/22, where we won our second successive Premier League title, he produced nine goals from 28 appearances, the same outlay as he managed in 2020/21.
The fab forward scored five in 2019/20 and one in 2018/19.
Congratulations to Phil on this impressive milestone.
